Hello! I’m Alex.

I founded Kids for Music because I love music and enjoy volunteering my time to inspire others. Music has helped me grow, not just in abilities such as reading notes, but has expanded my brain to blossom in the classroom.

I started playing the piano at age 4. For the last 9 years, I have prepared for the Florida Federation of Music Club’s District Festival that takes place annually at the University of Central Florida. I perform in the solo category by playing two contrasting piano pieces from memory.

In addition to piano, I play the alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, and tenor saxophone. I am a member of my school’s Wind Ensemble Band and elite Jazz Band. Learning the saxophone has taught me breath control, which has helped me become better at volleyball and relaxation techniques. Our band competes at the annual Music Performance Assessment and I perform solos at the Florida Bandmasters Association Solo and Ensemble event.

I am an active volunteer at Give Kids the World, a nonprofit resort in Kissimmee, Florida, where children with critical illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free vacations. I love meeting the kids and am eager to spread my love for music locally and internationally by purchasing instruments for those in need!

Music is very important to me, and it makes me and everyone listening smile - one song, one note at a time. Let’s work together for the kids. Sign up for our next recital, and together we will put smiles on their faces!
